DAISSIs and Daffodils!
Daffodil Point Hike March 18th 2022 from 1 -3 pm at Burgoyne Bay Provincial Park on Salt Spring Island.
Join us for the first DAISSI Pride event of 2022 to celebrate spring. This is an
easy to moderate hike through beautiful woods and boulders at the base of
Mount Maxwell and leading through a grove of old Garry Oaks to Daffodil Point
overlooking the ocean with views towards Vancouver Island. There we will
walk, rest and enjoy the bright yellow Daffodils that appear every year on this
point.
The hike itself is 3-4 km (depending on route back) and takes about 60-90 min
return with some short but steep hills. We suggest hiking boots and clothes for
all weather as we will be walking irrespective of April showers. You might want
to bring a drink and snacks and dog treats if you are bringing your furry friend
(dogs welcome on a leash please).
There is plenty of parking at the trailhead, at the very end of Burgoyne Bay Road
near the bay. We will meet you there at 12:50 pm and set off at 1 p.m.
Kath and Jenny from the DAISSI social committee will be there to lead the hike.
Looking forward to a fun tiptoe through the daffodils. Please RSVP to Jenny via
the www.prideallyear.ca or email jpetrak@gmail.com for further information
